Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to Missouri Criminal History. Reading a page, using a search tool, or otherwise continuing on the website signals acceptance of every term below. Anyone who does not agree must stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. Missouri Criminal History is privately owned and is not affiliated with any government body. Neither this website nor its advertising partners provides a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The resource helps visitors locate Missouri criminal-record sources. It is not a private investigation business or a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference website with no government affiliation. It does not store official records, perform official checks, retrieve case documents, or submit filings for visitors.

Missouri records remain with MSHP CJIS, the Missouri Department of Corrections, the Missouri Sex Offender Registry, state courts, and local agencies in 114 counties and the independent City of St. Louis. Public access to Missouri government records is controlled by laws such as the Missouri Sunshine Law, while ยง 43.540 RSMo applies to dissemination and use of Central Repository information. Links and third-party research tools do not transfer government custody or authority to this website.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Each visitor agrees not to:

  • Use bots, scrapers, or other automated tools against the pages
  • Interfere with performance or prevent another visitor from using the website
  • Attempt unauthorized access to any system or account
  • Use information to harass, stalk, threaten, or harm a person
  • Make hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decisions from website content
  • Violate any applicable federal, Missouri, or local law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No visitor may use information from this website or a linked tool to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or discriminate against anyone. Missouri Sex Offender Registry information is provided for public-safety awareness. Missouri law prohibits using registry information to facilitate a crime against a listed person. Vigilante conduct and discriminatory use are forbidden.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Missouri Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and does not create credit reports, background checks, or consumer reports. Its advertising partners are not presented as services for assessing applicants, renters, insurance risks, or credit. Information from this website or any linked tool must not be used to:

  • Determine eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit
  • Set insurance terms or evaluate creditworthiness
  • Assess a housing or rental applicant
  • Make an employment decision
  • Support any other purpose regulated by the FCRA

A lawful check for an FCRA-regulated purpose must come from an appropriate FCRA-compliant provider or an official channel authorized for that purpose, such as MSHP CJIS when applicable.

5. No Legal Advice

Website content is general information, not legal advice. Only a licensed Missouri attorney can advise how a charge, conviction, warrant, or expungement rule applies to a particular situation.

6. No Warranties

All content and services are provided "as is." No promise is made that:

  • An outside search result will be complete or correct
  • The pages contain no errors, bugs, or security weaknesses
  • The website will always be available without interruption
  • Information will be current, complete, and accurate at all times

Missouri criminal records can change when a charge is filed or dismissed, a disposition is entered, or a case is expunged. Gaps and delays are possible. Nothing published here is an official statement from MSHP CJIS, a court, a sheriff, or another government agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to Missouri agencies, court portals, county offices, legal-aid groups, and outside search providers. We do not control those destinations and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, prices, terms, or availability. Review a destination's rules before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Missouri Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, changed, distributed, or adapted without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages arising from use of the website, including reliance on information found here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

A visitor agrees to defend and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or proceedings caused by that visitor's use of the website or violation of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Missouri law governs these terms. Any dispute tied to use of the website must be brought in a court located in Missouri.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revision becomes effective when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or ended at any time, with or without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms stay in effect. The affected provision will be limited only as much as necessary.
